Persienne

Made with a type of cork normally used for thermal insulation, this light explores its texture and raw character. The cork contrasts with the polished aluminum structure, opposing an organic, tactile material with a cold, reflective surface. The panels are layered to cover and filter the light source, drawing on the principle of louvered blinds.

Étienne Vernier is a multidisciplinary designer with a particular interest in lighting. Drawing on his background in design and engineering, he creates objects that balance a playful technical approach with functionality. His creative process is rooted in research, exploring simple elements while remaining open to unexpected discoveries.
