FF Substrat
The FF Substrat Sconce emerges from processes that contrast control and chance, combining rudimentary moulding techniques with experimental glazes. Part of the Future Fossils collection, it draws its colours and textures from lichens, geology, and organisms of decomposition. This luminous piece seeks to bring the vastness of the outside world into our interiors.

Bio
Simon Johns designs functional pieces with a sculptural presence. Drawing inspiration from the natural patterns and textures of geological formations and architectural fragments, his work reflects on the ancient nature of mineral matter and the precarity of the present through the perspective of deep time. A graduate of Concordia University’s Fine Arts program, Johns brings together mediums that celebrate control and structure with others that embrace chance and transformation. Simon Johns lives and works in Bolton-Est, Quebec.
